Avonmore Milk/cream cartons now feature a new tethered cap, meaning the cap remains attached to the top of the carton after opening. This packaging change is part of an EU Directive to reduce the impact of plastic items on the environment. Keeping caps attached to bottles means they are more likely to be recycled together and that loose caps no longer end up in the environment. This EU Directive applies to all beverage packaging in bottles or cartons across the EU.
While milk is suitable for freezing, this is not something we recommend. Milk is a fresh product and freezing it can lead to a deterioration in both the taste and consistency of the product once thawed. In addition the carton or bottle may become damaged during freezing, causing the milk to leak out.
All of our Avonmore Milk cartons and bottles are fully recyclable, as are our Avonmore Cream cartons and plastic tubs. Avonmore Soup cartons and tubs are fully recyclable, as are Avonmore Custard tubs and Avonmore Creamed Rice cartons. Unfortunately, Avonmore Butter foil is not yet recyclable.
Please ensure to rinse clean, and dry all packaging before placing it loosely in the recycling bin.
