Tirlán’s sustainability strategy, ‘Living Proof’ is our holistic approach to sustainable farming, food production, and community development. It is built on the strengths of its people, farmers, and communities, aiming to lead in sustainable dairy and food systems. The strategy is underpinned by 3 key pillars, Growing Together, Climate and Nature and Circular Economy.
Growing Together
Growing Together embodies our commitment to shared prosperity and bringing value to our key stakeholders. The key themes covered by this pillar are DE&I, Charity partnerships and community engagement, member engagement, nutrition, responsible sourcing, health and safety, and food safety & quality.
Climate and Nature
Climate and Nature are inextricably linked and natural solutions for the climate crisis are heavily dependent on good regenerative agriculture practices and our Irish grass-based systems are dependent on the climate. Themes included under the climate & nature pillar are GHG reduction, biodiversity, soil health, water quality, animal care and air quality.
Circular Economy
Circular economy speaks to doing more with less creating more value and returning that value to our members. The themes of sustainable packaging, waste, the bio-economy and resource optimization make up this pillar.
